Took my Nexus 7 with 3.0.6 beta version flying today and have the following observations:

1) I like the new Xwind/Head-Tailwind instrument.

2) Had a few occasions where the Nexus 7 "locked up" (SkyDemon was unresponsive) for up to 30 secs before recovering to normal operation.

3) After flight I uploaded the flight log to cloud storage and downloaded to PC running 3.0.5. The PC was unable to read the flight log created by 3.0.6 (is this a design feature?). If I send the flight log to my PC (running 3.0.5) by email and then import the GPX file onto the PC hen all is OK. Looking at the contents of the flight log it seems to be a binary file now instead of the previous text file format. The new flight log is happily read and displayed the Android device running 3.0.6 but not another device running 3.0.5. I have uploaded the flight log here to look at (after having appended ".txt" to the filename to allow upload with this forum software).

I can confirm the flightlog format has changed to binary, so once all your devices are running 3.0.6 there will be no compatibility problems.

Thanks for the beta feedback.

Found another small bug in 3.0.6 beta for Android.

In Navigation mode press and hold on a user defined waypoint and a long list filled with multiple instances of the same waypoint is displayed.

Edited to add: Went flying today and SD (Nexus 7) crashed and had to be restarted mid flight again. Are the debug files txmitted to you automatically? Please can you provide a PC utility to stitch together multiple flight logs now that they are binary. Smile

Are you sure there aren't actually multiple instance of that waypoint defined in your User Waypoints screen?

Some devices send crash logs to us, others don't.

You are quite correct my user waypoint list had somehow filled with multiple (100s) copies of all my waypoints. I started deleting them one-by-one and upon deleting one specific waypoint the list cleared of all the remaining multiples - so I guess I had a corrupt waypoints file. Not sure how this could have happened.

I deleted all the remaining waypoints and reloaded them from the cloud again and all now seems well.

PS this was on Android. Not sure if its my imagination but performance seems to have improved considerably when map zooming/panning now - could this have been due to the huge number of user waypoints?

Thanks Tim

Quite possibly! Though I can't think how this situation could have occurred in the first place.
